THE PILLAR OF HOPE, INC. is a nonprofit organization committed to enhancing the lives of members in the community through our wide range of programs, workshops, activities and events. We provide resources, support groups, life skills training, and health and nutrition services.

LIFE SKILLS EDUCATION
Because Life Can Get Messy
TPOHCDC offers life skills classes throughout the year for the general public. Our goal is to offer classes on the needs for those in various life situations that can be difficult to navigate.Class topics will include, but are not limited to: Grief, Caring for the Elderly, Caring for Special Needs Children, How to Deal with Divorce, Money Management, Marriage Counseling, Parenting Classes, Resume Building, Dealing with Substance Abuse, Preventing and Reporting Child Abuse, Stress Management, Self-Defense, How to Deal with Bullying, Adoption, How to Leave a Will. We will also offer classes specifically for senior citizens. Class will include art, knitting, gardening, dancing and more.


HEALTH & NUTRITION SERVICES
Because Your Health Comes First
TPOHCDC hosts blood drives, health screenings for hypertension, diabetes, vision impairment, hearing impairment, and AIDS. Yoga & Zumba classes will be offered soon. Additionally, we will offer healthy cooking classes to teach how to prepare healthy meals.
ACADEMIC & PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION
COMING SOON!
TPOHCDC offers a variety of classes to help community members learn and develop employable skills sets. Class topics include, but are not limited to: Business Development, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Writing, English, Spanish, Granting Writing, Computer Classes, Drama, Dance, Painting, Music and Arts. We will also offer private music lessons and a free GED course as well.


TUTORING & AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM
COMING SOON!
For children, a tutoring program for those in kindergarten through 12th grade will be offered. Tutoring will be given for Math, Science & Reading Comprehension. As The Pillar of Hope Community Development Center grows, the program will expand to become an after school program. Children will receive snacks, homework assistance and the
opportunity to participate in recreational activities. Coaches will be on hand to teach various sports and have other educational activities like learning computer skills, performing arts, and sports.
